Slalom

 

Slalom is an event that has the best recreational water skiing. It has bouys on both sides of where the boat would be to make sure that the boat stays on course. There are two ways to enter and exit the course. While the boat is driven between the buoys, the skier has a task of their own.

The must enter through the entrance and then exit through the exit. You will do the course many times, but each time that you go through the course you must step up your speed. For men you have to reach 58 mph and for women you can go up to 55 mph. Sometimes the race will start at the maxium speed and then you have to complete the course as best as possible.

Sometimes they will acturally shorten the tow line or rope. At the shortest, it has to be shorter than the actural distance from the center of the track to a side buoy. The winner of this competition must complete all of the runs and go around the most bouys.

The race will have spots in the race where you can change the length of the rope. You may also when a rope that is color coded specifically for the race. This way you have loops that will help you quickly chance the length. The rope will start the race off with a length of five feet and it is usually red.

Then you keep getting smaller and smaller by having the red followed by the orange and then the yellow, green. Blue, violet, white, pink, black, and red colored rope loops.

This is a great honor to be in and you will also find that the slalom race is one of the greaest water sports events to watch. You will be fully entertained by this race and you will also find that all your hard work can be shown off at the slalom race. The slalom race is the ultimate race for any serious water skier. If you love to watch water skiing or you have an interest in making it a new hobby for yourself, you should go to the slalom.

When it comes to learning this sport you don't have feel that your age matters. You can be young or young at heart. If you have a passion for something, you should never feel too old for it. In fact, some areas even have senior watersport classes. This is a great way to spend some of your extra time as well as getting into shape. Children of any age can have water skiing as a hobby.

However, you should make sure your child understands all the safty rules and why they need to take steps to ensure their safety. Water skiing can be a deadly sport if you mishandle it. As a begginer you will want to know everything before you go and try it out. You need to make sure that it is something that you would want to do.
