Learning to water ski

The first thing that you will learn to do is to get up on your skis. This is very important if you plan on pursuing water skiing seriously. When you first take up water skiing, you will want to purchase some equipment and then try to quickly locate a coach. If you cannot find someone to help you with your water skiing techniques, then you will want to do is at least seek some knowledge on how to get up on the skies.

The first step to getting up on your water skis is to place your feet tightly into the skis. Make sure that they fit perfectly. The fit of your skis can be very important to your performance. You will want to place your skis on in the water or the back of the boat. Then you should take the rope that is connected to the boat and place it between your knees, while holding on firmly.

You will want to remember that your knees should be bent towards your chest. Although this seems very difficult to do in the water, you will notice that the life preserver will keep you a float. The skis should be pointed towards the boat and about a shoulder length apart.

You will want them to be a half a foot above the water, not out of the water. When the boat begins to move all you have to do is keep your knees together, your arms straight with a bent elbow, and make sure the your chin is down too. When the boat begins to move you have to shift your weight onto your feet while in a sitting position.

You will know when to stand up. It will come natural. If you stand up too soon your will fall. Also, don't pull the rope into your body; this will make you fall as well, after a couple tries you will know when to stand up and how to balance yourself.

Water skiing is something that you should practice over and over again to become comfortable with. You will need to be comfortable standing and stay standing in a skilled manner before you begin to do a trick or stunt.
